My sister showed me this awesome band, Passion Pit. Their album, Manners is not new, but really good. The album was released in 2009, but it really hasn't been very popular. Some of the best songs on their album are Moth's Wings, Sleepyhead and Little Secrets. Passion Pit is an alternative band. Manners is an up beat album with many techno effects. Little Secrets is my favorite song on the album because it starts out as like the beginning of a Mario Brothers game. This album is really awesome because it is good music to jam out to and it has those head-bobbing songs! I recommend this album to anyone who enjoys alternative music. If you like Imagine Dragons in my previous post this band is definitely for you!

In class we listened to Led Zeppelin 1 and it is a strange album. The lead singer likes to play with the guitar a lot by screaming and moaning and it's like follow the leader. The songs are so long and feel like 8 minute songs when there between 4-6 minute songs. I like some of it. What I really like is the guitar and the drums. Most if this album though is just obnoxious sounds, but after the obnoxiousness when he actually sings its really good. So I am half and half about this album I'm not all sure if I like it.

In class we watched a movie called Woodstock. This is a movie that is about a concert that was the first very huge concert. The cost of putting this all together was two million dollars. They started out the first act and the stage wasn't even ready . The first act was a black man and his crew and he played the guitar with his monster fingers. Then it was some girl that we skipped. Next was the Who and they were good but the lead singer for the Who had the strangest outfit on. This was a very strange movie they taut people how to meditate and some of the acts were very strange. This was an ok movie.

Thanks to my sister
Thanks to my sister I have something to blog about. She gave me around 23 songs to listen to and I haven't listened to them all yet. The bands she showed me are imagine dragons, the lumineers, passion pit and a few others and she has some good taste. My favorites are radioactive by imagine dragons, and sleepy head and take a walk by passion pit. The passion pit songs are ones you can dance along to and good for parties. The beats just really good and up beat. Radioactive is good cause the beat is slow and strong it's a good head banging song and fun to sing to. The other songs I have either already talked about in other blogs and don't have anything else to say about them or there just not that good.
In class we learned about The Band. At first I thought he was just saying a band and I had to keep asking a friend what the band he was talking about till I finally understood that it was the bands name and I feel dumb now. But first we listened to The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down and I really liked it. It is a great song I love the harmony in the song and its very catchy and amazing. This band was from Canada and they are so good they are a rock and roll band and sound country a little it's a little soul too. We got to see there live play on the Dixie song and it was so good cause they play with so much passion. It is very impressive that he can play the dumbs and sing cause that is so difficult. This band is so good and there other songs are really good too but the Night That Drove Old Dixie Down is just my favorite .

I have been listening to Imagine Dragons now and they sound like One Republic, which is good cause I like it a lot. I like there song called Demond's I like the change from the slow piano to both drums and a simple guitar playing. I also the song bleeding out and it starts out slow and dim and then it goes to a faster tempo and is really an up beat song. The last song that's my favorite is on top of the world and it is really a party song and a lot of people can sing to it cause it's just that type of song. The rest are just ok. Also they like to clap in a lot if there songs and that's cool. They are a pretty good band.

In class we learned the that rock and roll is more of something that is a rebellion of something. Not just something with an electric guitar. Many things have electric guitars and are not rock and roll like an example in class was the Jonas Brothers they are not rock and toll. We listened to Jonny cash and his album that he played for the people in jail. He played there cause he use to in jail also. This album was recorded in the jail wile playing live. His third song is very short and his first song is really good I like the beat of it. And the in the forth song I like the tempo of it it's really fast and good it talks about being in jail and about drugs and shooting the judge. Those where my favorite songs.

The first class this week we listened to Cream and I really didn't like there music at all. It just sound really bad and the last song was the worse. In some songs they sounded winey and you wanted to just turn it off. Not all the songs where bad but I didn't have a favorite. The next day we listened to the Beatles, and that was a lot better and this album is kinda all over the place but its really good. You still see the humor in the Beatles cause one song is making fun the people that think Paul was dead. They also made honey pie and that's really sort and weird but that's not the first time they have done something like that. I like the Beatles more than Cream. A lot more!
My music
I haven't listened to anything different this week, just so Mumford, some Modest Mouse, some dubstep in my car and that's all. But I am getting favorites in the rotations. In Mumford the song hopeless wanderer is my favorite cause they have a jam out on the piano and who jams on a piano not a lot of people and its really good. On modest mouse it is "one chance" it's so good the lyrics are so good and the drum beat is very simple but it just flows and thats what I have been listening to this week!

I have been listening to 2 new songs by Ed Sheeran. He is a good singer and my friend told me I would like him cause he is a folk singer and I do like his singing. The two songs I bought are The A Team and Lego House. The A Team clearly has drugs in it. It says " I would go mad for a couple couple grams" and not much later it says "in a pipe she flies to the mother land" and if that's not drugs the I don't know what is. But the song is about a girl that has some problems and it just sings different problems. In Lego House its just about a guy and his girl and if things go wrong they can restart and if they go right they will continue. He's a good singer.
In class we listened to the Beatles egg man song and it is so trippy, but I love it, it has a good tone to it and the lyrics are funny and the back story is so weird. We also listened to there album Magical Mystery and its pretty good. My favorite song is All You Need is Love. This album has come a long way from the first album, there's a lot more sign of drugs, but not as much a rubber soul. This was their 10th album in 4 years that is crazy the Beatles are music maniacs!

Make up blog modest mouse
I just found a new band cause of my friend Dylan Roddy. It's a really folk type of band and I listen to it almost every day. Me and him traded music he gave me Modest Mouse and I gave him the new Mumford album (illegally). It's one of the three things I listen to now (The Mouse, Mumford, and Taylor) I really enjoin there song one chance it has good lyrics and the tone of it is real good. I like modest mouse a lot and would love to see them in concert.

In class today we listened Jimmy Hendricks and I don't like his music as much as the Beatles. It's just not my style yo. I didn't really like any of the songs. I think it sounds almost like a bunch of instruments put together without any rhythm. The song that was an instrumental with the creepy voice did not appeal to me at all. All in all I just don't like this album "are you experienced".

Taylor Swift Album
Taylor Swift released a new album this week, called RED. I thought it was a great album with many different types of songs such as country, pop, and one that sounds almost like dupstep. My favorite songs on the album are called "Holy Ground", "I Almost Do", "22", and "Everything Has Changed". Taylor also features two other artists on this album, Ed Sheeran and Gary Lightbody. I didn't think this album would be as good as her previous two albums "Taylor Swift" and "Fearless". I did not think that this was going to be a good album but it surprised me.
class
In class this week we listened to a lot of bands. Some of them were good and others not as good but I liked cream a lot. Cream was the favorite cause I like the style of it. I didn't really listen to the lyrics but the tone of it was my type of style. I did not like any of the bands really and I forgot the names of the ones that I liked....... oops. OH and I need to look at the medal maps cause I thing I would like that. This week was an ok week for music.

Nothingness
This has been a dead week for music for me I haven't listened to anything now or exiting. I have wanted to buy the new album for need to breath cause I know some of their older songs but I have been to busy and stuff. But I have heard some music in my phone that I haven't heard in a wile. I have heard some country music some rap so screamo and some Christian so that's always fun. But besides that I haven't been hyped to listen to music witch is weird. I remember someone playing some kid kudi and I like that so I go and check out some of there stuff. It's been a pretty dead week and I ready for more i will go hunting for music next week! :D
We listened to the Beatles in class once again and it was awesome. I think that it was the best one yet. We listened to the album Rubber soul. And I don't know the names of any of the songs but it was my favorite jam from the Beatles I liked it a lot. The next album we listened to was pet sounds? At first I was like what the crap cause its a weird name but it was awesome. My favorite was the instrumentals they were really good. I hope there's another movie for the Beatles about pet sounds cause I think it would be really funny. And that's all I have to say!

Penny and sparrow
Penney and Sparrow is a band that my two friends that are out of college made. I know them from my church. The head singer of Penny and Sparrow Plays in big church and the other singer sings in youth. They are bothe very talented singers and are great song writers and put a lot of time into there band. They have a new album coming out in November that I can't wait for. This album has 11 songs on it and the previous album only had 3 really great songs so I'm pretty happy for this new one. I haven't seen them live yet but I am waiting to. They are a great band and people should check them out and buy there stuff they would love that.
TROUBLE
The new single released by Taylor Swift 'I Knew You Were Trouble' is an amazing song! I has been on repeat on my phone for too many times to count. This song is completly different from here other music with more electronic/club influence instead of a more soulful approach. Even though the topic of this song is the same as of any other by Taylor, (boys) I love the song.
ACL
Even though this year I am not going to ACL I still listen to the bands that are attending hoping to see them at a different location/show. The main bands that I am looking at are The Black Keys, Avicii, Florence and The Machine and of course The Red Hot Chili Peppers. These bands range in sound from crazy upbeat club style music to mellow rock with influences of religion and jazz. I really like The Black Keys with their "hipster" style and The Red Hot Chili Peppers for being music one can just chill out to. Hopefully I will be able to see some of these shows soon.
Beatles movie
This Beatles movie was the craziest of all. The story line was berry random and weird but funny also. It was better then the documentary though because I could understand them more. I liked how they movie was based on Ringo though cause he is the youngest so at first they didn't believe that people were after him cause he was trying to get attenchion that was funny. The movie really don't make since I thought there was no real meaning to it, so it wasn't a good movie really.

MUMFORD!!!!
OH MY GOODNESS!! Is all I can say to Babel the new Mumford and Sons album. It is so good I haven't listened to anything else since it came out(besides what we listen to in class). The day it came out I bought it and burned a cd of the Album to put in my car, so I do not listen to anything else really. I talk to all of my friends about it and have only found a few who are as hyped about it as I am. One of my friends who loves them pre-ordered it and at 12 o'clock she listened to it for 4 hours on a loop. But she has that time cause she is in college.... I would have done the same if I didn't have school the next day.
My favorite song is Babel the first song on the album. It is a great up beat song that starts the album off really well. The next song Whispers In the Dark and it is not a song that I like as much as the others but, the way they sing it and the emotion they put in it is makes it a good song.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGO9ET4cN6c
(I dont know if this is gonna show up as the video or just the link to click on.) The guy who reviews the album shares how he feels about the album and points out to the viewer the emotion the band puts into their songs. At minute 5 he talks about his opinions and at minute 6 he tell about his website so avoid those unless you wanna know what he like about them. I don't think he talks about the songs I like enough.....but that's okay I will expand on the songs I think are important.
Now the third song is I Will Wait, it is a favorite of mine. It was a single and released earlier than the others so I got to listen to the song a lot before album came out and I liked it the first time I heard it. The next two songs I am gonna skim over, they are Holland Road and Ghosts That We Knew two good songs but not my favorites on the album. The next one I really like Lover of the Light, I didn't think I would like it cause its slow in the beginning, but in the middle of the song it gets more up beat and you can feel the emotion in the vocals. It is my second or third favorite song.
The next two songs are Lovers' Eyes and Reminder. I like Reminders a lot but its slow and not the best one, but non the less a really good and really short song, only 2 minutes long. Hopeless Wanderer is a one that I want to expand on, I love how it starts off slow and then turns into a semi upbeat song. The way they use the piano to bring the song up to beat was great for me, I love it. A good side note is the instruments they use all the time, how not original they are like the banjo and even small instruments like the tambourine is glorious.
There Tenth song Broken Crown is so good. This is a song where they put so much passion into the song it is amazing. I love this song I can really get into it cause of how they sing it. It is my second favorite song. I am not sure how to express how I feel about this song I have almost no words. There are the next two that I am having a hard time getting into cause there both slow and there just not getting my attention, they are Below My Feet and Not With Haste .
The next song For Those Below, It is only on the deluxe edition of the album and it is so good cause it doesn't sound like them. It is not like any other song I have heard, neither on Sigh No More nor on Babel, it's so weird to me yet I still love it.
Finally the last two songs, I actually don't like them that much they are my last favorites. The Boxer is one song and my least favorite song. Where are You Now, is the other song and I think my opinion of it will change the more I listen to it, it's a little slow but catchy. That is all of the songs on the deluxe edition of Babel and I absolutely love it, the passion they sing in it is better then in Sigh No More. The band has improved a lot since the last album as musicians even though Sigh No More is an amazing album, but they just killed it to me on Babel. Mumford and Sons are very very talented musicians and I think this band will only get better and better!

Beatles for sale
In Beatles for Sale it is a album where they seem like they are tired in the singing and I think it is there best album from the ones we have listened to. I like the songs better. Not anything specifically but I just like the beat in the songs and I feel like it was better than the others. My favorite song is not on this album though. I was getting tired of the Beatles cause in class we listen to them so much and in other classes I have seen other movies. But I am actually exited for there next album we will listen to in class cause the discussion got me interested in it.

Toby Mac
I have not been listening to anything besides Mumford and Sons because there new album is almost here.....BUT, Toby Mac is a christian singer and has a lot of upbeat songs. They are a lot of fun to listen to with some friends but they are better in person. He is a great performer and a good dancer. He has some people apart of his band but he is the main singer. The best part of his concern when the two of the other singers jump up on a trampoline and slam the ground at the sound of the bass and it rocked. He has been the best stage performance I have been to yet.
beatles
In class this week we watched a different movie of the Beatles. What I have learned about the Beatles is that they are really funny and are great at preforming. They make good music videos in the movie and also have clever escapes from the crazy fans. It is a lot easier to understand them in the movie rather in the documentary. The movie was better than the documentary because they always had something going on in the movie and it was really funny. The Beatles are my favorite rock and roll band they rock. <--(punny)

Mumford and sons
I have been listening to Mumford and sons for some time now, but now that they have a new album coming out soon I am listening to them more than ever. I downloaded there sigh no more album (for free cause I'm a genus) and it is so good. My favorite song is white blank page it is a great song the lyrics are so good and what they say and I will let you see them.
Can you lie next to her
and give her your heart, your heart?
As well as your body
And can you lie next to her
and confess your love, your love?
As well as your folly
And can you kneel before this king
and say "I'm clean", "I'm Clean"?
This is what I could pull up of the lyrics and the rest I would say you should look up they are really good.
Can you lie next to her
and give her your heart, your heart?
As well as your body
And can you lie next to her
and confess your love, your love?
As well as your folly
And can you kneel before this king
and say "I'm clean", "I'm Clean"?
This is what I could pull up of the lyrics and the rest I would say you should look up they are really good.
In class we watched the Beatles movie and they blow my mind with how they play with the crazy crowd and how loud the crowds were. They are flipping prodigies. They are so funny when they make fun of the guy who mess' up the the name of there song. But when they play at the train station that is Crazy they just got off of a train and they just go and play right after they get off that is completely bonkers. The Beatles are awesome!

Bob Marley
So Today I was listening to some Bob Marley and I really love his music. My favorite songs from him are: No Woman No Cry, I Shot the Sheriff, and Jamming. I like Jamming the most cause I like to jam and it has got a great beat and is a totally chill song. What I like the most about Bob is the way he does his voice like in Lively up Yourself he does a crazy thing with his voice at the very beginning and I have no idea how to describe it but I would love you to check it out cause he is a Prodigy. (my opinion) I would put up a video but i have no idea too. Bob Marley rocks check him out.

Beatles
In class today we listened to the Beatles album Please Please Me. It is my favorite album by the Beatles, my favorite song by them is Shake it up Baby. It is a good catchy/toe tapping song that is fun to listen to. If you are into old rock and roll and you haven't heard of the Beatles...... First off you are crazy and second they have some really good songs that are fun to sing and dance to. (if you are the dancing type) Again Beatles Rock. Listen to them!

In our history or rock and roll we learned about Elvis Priestly, Jay lee Lewis, and Little Richard. There were more that we learned about but these were my favorite. Elvis' song hound dog was my favorite since I was little. I liked the styles of both Little Richard and Jay lee Lewis. If you are in to Rick n role, these are some good singers (really they are the best and one is named the king of Rick and role so they are the best actually)

Home by Phillip Phillips
I have been bumpin' to this new song called "Home" by Phillip Phillips. He is a new singer that me and my friends listen too in my car. I love the beat and lyrics to his song. He won on "American Idol" he is a great singer and sings a little like Mumford and Sons. Phillip Phillips is a pop singer and his new hit "Home" was the theme song for the Olympics this year. He is an awesome singer and i suggest him to everyone!
